The time of year had come to celebrate my son’s birthday.  As his birthday approached, we tossed around many ideas for a party before deciding on one.  We would have a video game party.  In order to make the party memorable, we knew that it would take more than one platform played on a little television and decided to ramp up the excitement as best as we could.

The first thing we would need was going to be some video game platforms, and it was not going to be good enough to only have one, we would have to get a Nintendo Wii, an kinect and a Playstation move along with a  variety of games for the kids to play and some televisions for them to play on.

Getting something to play the games and the systems to play them on was fairly simple.  It turned out to be more difficult than I thought.  Our home was already equipped with the Wii gaming console.  I contacted a video game store and asked them if they had the systems to rent and found out they did not have the Xbox Kinect because it was to new and since the xbox 360 kinect had just passed it would be a while for them to start renting them but they did have titles available for all three of the platforms and it would just be a matter of finding a store that had the titles that I wanted.  We did not let that stop us from getting all three platforms.  The good things is my son knew plenty of people who have the other platforms and was able to get the platforms from them.

We needed to add a few more screens to our home to complete the game platforms.  We already owned one big screen television and another that was fairly big.  But the theme was to go big and we would need more.  We found out that we could rent a 73 inch 3-D television and made the arrangements to do just that.  They did not let you rent it for a couple of days, so it stayed in our home for a month.  It made watching television that month a whole new experience for the entire family.  It was not something that made my spouse happy with me.

We prepared the house for the onslaught of teenage gamers.  The local video store was one of the places that we found some games that the kids would enjoy.  My son told the kids who he invited to bring any games or accessories that they wanted.  Our home also had other gaming consoles that we no longer used but were still able to work.  We set up everything that we had that had anything to do with video games.  There was plenty for everyone to play.

As the kids arrived I was amazed at the variety of thing that they brought with them.  There seemed to be no end to the extras for the consoles and games.  I think we would have been able to open our own store with all of the stuff.  There was also a wide variety of games to chose from for all of the platforms.  It was a good thing the party was a sleepover so the kids would have enough time to enjoy everything they had.

I gave up at some point in the party.  My son and his guest lasted longer than me.  They played games the entire night.  As I cooked some food, they were still playing.  I do not know how happy the other parents were about the lack of sleep for their children.  In the end we were able to accomplish what we wanted to.The xbox 360 kinect price is 159.99 US Dollars
