Intense stereotypes surround people who are serious about body building. The stereotype is that of people who cover their bodies in oil, grow their muscles to almost obscene proportions and then do no thing but lift half ton weights over and over again. The stereotype is not totally in error. There are some individuals who choose to live that lifestyle. A professional body builder, for example, is usually given money and endorsements for the effort he puts into building his muscles up to outrageous sizes. There are, obviously, plenty of other reasons to take up body building as a hobby. The most important reason for anyone to start body building is to increase health. Body building is a great way to exercise. Here is the correct approach to body building when you are first starting out.
Proper breathing is important. Proper breathing is very important as you go through your body building routine. Holding your breath is a bad idea. Oxygen is important for keeping muscles healthy so you want to take in as much as you can. When you breathe you want to breathe from your diaphragm and not from your lungs. When you fill up your lungs with air your chest expands which makes it harder for you to work the muscles in your chest. If you breathe from the diaphragm you are still taking in all the oxygen you need but it doesn’t cause your chest to expand. Work out all of your muscles every time you exercise. You shouldn’t focus solely on your arms, your cardiovascular system, your legs or your shoulders. All of these muscle groups are important and they need to be worked on during every exercise routine. Making sure that all of your muscle groups progress at the same rate means working all of them equally. This will cause your body to look and feel like things aren’t balanced correctly. If you truly want to be healthy you need to work everything equally. This is true even if you are doing something besides body building for exercise. Body building is not different. Also, in case you’re interested, a great way to build some extra muscle is with Bodylastics bands. We highly recommend the TO Bands in particular.
There are many different types of exercises that body builders can do to work on their muscles including but in no way limited to: squats, lunges, curls, barbell work, dumbbell work, leg presses, dead lifts, pull ups, hanging leg raises and all of the exercises that non body builders do like cardiovascular work, swimming, biking and running. While it is important to know how to do these exercises, you need to make sure that you do them with another person. When you work on lifting, make sure you have someone spot you, especially on the days when you are working on increasing your weight tolerance. Lifting without having someone to spot you is dangerous because you won’t have anybody to help you if the lift you are doing becomes to hard for you to do by yourself.
Everybody can do body building. It makes it easier to get in shape and think about your health. For some people body building is more than a hobby, it is a career! You don’t have to be quite that dedicated to the sport but if you keep at it you might find out that you really like the way it makes your body look and feel. If you set reasonable body building goals and use your brain you should easily be able to improve the level of your health! Last but not least, be sure to read our Bodylastics review.
