If you came upon the post , I bet you are looking for the famous kfc cole slaw recipe and possibly other secret restaurant recipes . More on that in a bit . But first , I want to part with you my trials of locating it.

I’m not a huge coleslaw cheerer , but my grandfather. Wow. Is that another story!

I take he could practically live on Kentuckey Fried Chicken’s slaw , he claims it to be the “best ever”. So obviously my husband and I wanted to impress him (me and my husband love to cook) so we set out on a mission to re-create the KFC magic in our home .

After seaching the cyberspace looking for the secret restaurant recipe , everyone was confused. We had found a lot of different recipes, and had no idea which was right ! They all claimed to be the correct one but somehow we knew my he has a more incisive taste.

So we chose the 2 that seemed to be the best , and made the two of them. We tasted the 2 of them , but like I did say , I’m not a big fan and really did not know how they compared to Kentuckey Fried Chicken , though they did taste quite differently against eachother .

When my grandfather took his first bite , we held our breath, waiting for him to say “wow, you got KFC cole slaw” and then for us to respond with “No! We did it ourselves!” but nope , grandpa put the utensil down and just said “this coleslaw is abominable”!

Oops!

About 1 week after that embarrassing happening , I was telling a co worker about what happened and she told me about a resource I had never heard of before. Apparently there is a “secret” club of sorts that traded copycat restaurant recipes back and forth. We checked it out and yes , there was the notable KFC cole slaw recipe.

So I fired up the kitchen and called grandpa over, and you know what…he loved it! He said it tasted just like the KFC cole slaw recipe from the restaurant . The best part of the story is that I found an endless supply of the best recipes, and can now cook like the pros from our home . How cool is that?
